Welcome to the family of Camp Gan Israel!
Our aim is to establish a close rapport between parents and camp staff. If you ever have any questions or wish to discuss any matter with the director or your child’s counselor, feel free to call us (908) 875-8517.
The camp day begins at 9:30 AM and ends at 3:30 PM Monday through Friday (Optional Late Stay until 5 pm, see Dates & Rates for details). Please avoid dropping off your child(ren) earlier than 9:15 AM so that they may be adequately supervised. If you are in need of early drop off or late stay, please call (908) 875-8517.
Please make sure to check out our online camp calendar describing the upcoming activities at Camp Gan Izzy. Please read it and follow the instructions carefully to insure that your child does not miss any of the fun-filled activities provided by camp.
Parents should send lunches that are either dairy or pareve (no meat lunches). Lunches should be sent in a clearly marked bags for easy disposal.
Please have children bring swimsuits on the first day of camp. Mark swim suits and towels clearly with the child’s name using name labels or indelible ink. Clothing, especially outerwear, should also be marked with your child‘s name.
Safety and Security Procedures:
All campers shall be signed in and signed out of camp at drop off and pick up by parent or designate substitute.
When arriving late, please walk your child into the building and over to a staff member.
Parents wishing to have their child released during or after camp to anyone other than themselves or their designated substitute must make prior arrangements with the camp Directors.
Please call the day before if you know your child will not attend camp. We request a phone call by 8:00 a.m. if absence is unexpected.
If for any reason your child needs to be picked up early please arrange in advance with camp directors.
In case of a medical emergency, G‑d forbid, family doctors (listed on the registration papers) and parents or guardians will be contacted immediately.
Personal Property :
The Camp does not take responsibility for any personal items brought to camp.
Personal sports equipment such as baseball bats, hockey sticks, sports balls, etc will be stored by the counselor and used under staff supervision. Electronics (including phones) are not allowed in camp. if mistakenly brought, they will be kept in the camp office until dismissal.
ABSOLUTELY NO illegal substances or weapons of any kind will be allowed on camp grounds. Camp reserves the right to conduct searches when we feel necessary.
Dress Code:
The wearing of a CGI t-shirt is mandatory on trip days and will be available for purchase prior to the start of camp. We suggest purchasing 2-3 shirts. Boys should wear a Kipa (or cap).
