WOW!! First week of Hebrew School was AMAZING! We had a Bee Keeper Tom and Annette come and teach us all about Bees and how honey is made! Perfect for this time of year with the High Holidays fast approaching! Shana Tova!!
After missing the first couple of weeks due to Hurricane Irma our students are finally settling in! This week Morah Tammy's class started to get a hands on experience learning the Hebrew letters. Morah Esther Malamud Hoffer and Rabbi Amram Hoffer classes learned all about Yom Kippur and its intricate laws!! Finally we started our Hebrew Aleph Champ program which the kids absolutely loved even though not being held in its normal designated place:). Cant wait to see everyone next week!!
Man these weeks keep flying by!! This week Rabbi Amram took his students on a journey to 7-11 to relive The Exodus-the whole reason for the holiday of Sukkot!! Meanwhile Morah Esther taught her students all about the logistics of making a kosher Sukkah. Finally Morah Tammy had her class experience the Lulav Shake by having her kids use a show and tell set. Yum!! Check out those amazing Sukkah snacks each student made:) Big shout out to Rabbi Amram for showing our students a real Lulav and Esrog set!!
How can learning be this much fun? This week Rabbi Amram's class learned about the history of the Jewish people post bible era. Ask yourself what is the Tanach! Morah Esther class learnt all about what makes food Kosher and had a hunt to find such foods! Morah Tammy's class started a project on the six days of creation. Pics to follow!
Literally!! Please take it easy with all this fun!! What an amazing week!! Rabbi Amram's class learned all about the importance of the land of Israel and why it holds a special place in everyone's heart. Morah Esther's class took a hands on approach to their lesson by going to Publix and finding kosher foods which they bought and enjoyed for a delicious snack. Don't worry moms they only bought vegetables and healthy food;))))(YEAH RIGHT!!). Morah Tammy's class is recreating the six days of creation with their insanely cute project!! Enjoy!!
Man oh man!! Love this place!! What an awesome week!! This week we had a very special presentation by the Rabbi Sholom Dubov himself!! He taught the two oldest grades all about what makes a mezuzah and teffilin kosher! He showed the kids the risks of not guarding and keeping close care of these holy objects! Great stories of the sages were shared as well! We even got to examine a real torah! Thank you Rabbi Dubov for teaching us!! Morah Tammies class continued their work with the seven days of creation and learned the Hebrew letters of "Hey" and "Vav"... We would like to welcome Zia to our youngest class!! Also a big thank you to our conversational Hebrew speaking teacher Morah Rebbeca!
Another week! Its been a blast that keeps on going:) This week Rabbi Amram's class learned about the awesome Judge Devorah, the only woman judge in the Tanach and spent sometime outside enjoying the beautiful weather! Morah Esthers class learned about one of the most important prayers in Judaism- the "Shema"! Morah Tammies class finally finished their projects of the six days of creation! Congratulations to Raffa Vanuno and Jaccob Tindal for passing their respected levels in Aleph Champ!
Saweet!! Another awesome week!! Love how these kids are learning and having fun!! Shout out to Rabbi Ed for taking over Rabbi Amram's class. Rabbi Amram went to NY for a grand Rabbi convention. This week Rabbi Ed learned all about Samson and his inhumane strength. Morah Esther taught about how a Jew conducts him/herself in his home. Morah Tammie's class started a new curriculum that teaches the kids what blessings to make over different types of food. First stop: Hamotzie!
What a week!! Who would ever think that kids would love school?! Well not school but you get my drift!! These kids love learning about their Jewish identity and have tremendous fun while doing so:) Rabbi Amram's class caught up on all their previous crafts and learned to bake! Morah Esther's class made their very own Mezuzah covers to take home! Morah Tammie's class learned all about the blessing of "Mezonot" and all classes joined to make delicious cookies for our hands-on experience:) check out the video in the separate post! Last but not least we finally broke out the prize store where every kid was able to purchase prizes using their Torah tokens!
Awesome time!! This week all classes started to learn about the why and what of Chanukah!! Rabbi Amram's class did a really neat experiment to explain why they needed a sealed jug of oil for the temple! Condolences to Morah Tammie on her fathers passing:( Thank you to Morah Lisa you is filling in! Congrats to Issac Cabiac for passing his first level in Aleph Champ! To many more!!:) Next week Hebrew School will be taking place in The Home Depot in Lake Mary at 11:15 until 12!! Can't wait to see everyone there!

Hebrew School this week looked a bit different than normally but the idea was the same:) See for yourself in the pictures below!
